Supporting retail is as easy as 1, 2, 3…4

Retail’s BIG ShowToday, here in New York, we’ve been celebrating the constantly evolving and innovative retail industry. From Macy‘s Terry Lundgren’s remarks on retail as an economic engine to Bill Clinton’s keynote where he mentioned that his first job ever was in the industry (to quote Clinton, “I could have been one of you”), retail’s role in the economy and as a job creator has never been a hotter topic. Retailers are at the forefront of America’s economic recovery, investing and creating jobs.

This year at Retail’s BIG Show, we’re doing something brand new. We want our nation’s leaders, business owners, shoppers and students to know just how vital this industry is to the health of our nation’s – and even the global – economy.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Find a Retail Means Jobs kiosk (located around the Javits Center) and sign a pledge to support retail.
  2. Visit  www.RetailMeansJobs.com and learn about how retail impacts your state.
  3. Follow @RetailMeansJobs on Twitter and tweet using #retailmeansjobs.
  4. Compete in our just-announced This is Retail video contest (you could win $25,000!).

Retail plays a significant role in driving the economic recovery – and we want to make sure that detail is never overlooked. Engage with our Retail Means Jobs campaign now so we can continue to advance innovation and growth in the industry we all love.
