Catering to all of their shoppers’ needs and wants this holiday season, retailers excited even the most cynical holiday shoppers with their bargains and promotions over Black Friday weekend and on Cyber Monday. And, for the first time for many retailers, mobile shopping was a huge component of their strategy. Undeniably, this will be the biggest holiday season yet for mobile commerce.
To test that theory, NRF Senior Vice President Mike Gatti – who is also head of our Retail Advertising and Marketing Association - joined local CBS reporter Lesli Foster at a local mall to see it all in action. One nearby shopper even buzzed by with a coupon code she had just received from Foursquare after “checking in” at that particular retailer.
