Just as 2010 brought many challenges and opportunities for retail supply chains, we believe 2011 will do the same. The strong growth we saw in 2010 has retailers cautiously optimistic that the economic recovery is finally taking hold. However, this does not mean retailers or their customers are fully out of the woods yet.
One key area that many retailers believe will continue to be a challenge in 2011 and beyond remains network optimization. This becomes even more critical as retailers look to service their multichannel operations. As such, retailers need to focus on how best to maximize their inventory to ensure they are getting the merchandise to the ultimate consumer in the most efficient way.
We caught up with Russ LoCurto, Senior Vice President for Global Logistics for Polo Ralph Lauren, Laurie Everill, Director of International Trade/Compliance for Charming Shoppes, Inc. and Dennis Cohen, Director Private Brand Operations for Office Depot, Inc. and asked their opinion on the biggest challenges they see for supply chain operations in 2011. Listen below as Russ, Laurie and Dennis share their views.
