Supply Chain SummitAs the U.S. economy continues to recover from one of the worst economic recessions in modern history, retailers are now looking to the lessons they learned and applying them throughout their organizations.  Nowhere is this better witnessed than within the supply chain.

The movement of goods from point of origin to the store shelf is a critical part of any successful retailer’s strategy.  This was surely tested in 2009 as consumer demand dropped and retailers were forced to react with their vendor partners – both product and service suppliers.  Retailers who were able to make changes in their supply chains and work with their partners made it through the recession and are now in a better position today to quickly react to issues within the supply chain.

Take a peek at the videos below of NRF’s Strategic Supply Chain Council Chairman Ken Bonning, Executive Vice President of Logistics at Kohl’s Department Stores, and Vice Chairman Dennis Cohen, Senior Director Private Brand Operations at Office Depot,  to hear their ‘lessons learned’ from the 2009 recession.

These and other issues relating to “People, Compliance and Sustainability” will be addressed at NRF’s Global Supply Chain Summit, April 10-12, 2011 in Columbus, OH.
